MOSQUITO PROBLEM AND OTHER STORIES, THE
problemat s komarite i drugi istorii
“Alternately delightful and disturbing, The Mosquito Problem and Other Stories features characters who would do Christopher Guest proud.” - Variety
On the banks of the swollen Danube in northern Bulgaria is the town of Belene, where the citizens ready themselves for a future of prosperity with the coming of a nuclear power plant. While the locals like to complain endlessly about the giant mosquitos that plague the area, they are less talkative when it comes to discussing a darker time in the town's history, when it served as a Communist-era forced labour camp. With drunken hunters, a boogie-woogie piano tuner, pom-pom girls, an Italian priest and a gun-toting ex-mayor, Belene is filled with quirky personalities bringing new light to a once dark place.
