JESUS CHRIST SAVIOUR

1971. The hippie counter-culture movement is in full swing. And notorious German actor Klaus Kinski stands on the stage of Berlin's Deutschlandhalle, performing a monologue while chaos reigns around him.
An astounding long-lost record of a theatrical performance about the life of Jesus, in which Kinski works and confonts an extremely hostile audience. The jeers start almost immediately as the actor begins his monologue - they heckle, hurl abuse and storm the stage. Although Kinski's performance is derailed, he doesn't give up - even altering his script to mock the hecklers. After most of the audience have left in disgust he recites his lines, hoarsely, quietly, but uninterrupted. This video of the late actor's ill-fated performance captures the restlessness of the time, and offers a compelling portrait of an artist renowned for his provocations.
