Human relations have a history: a beginning, a main part, and an ending and this is what this film is about.

Antoine, a quiet, slightly disabled man, has cut himself off from the world, his only company being a canary bird. When he meets Alain, a 30-year-old independent bachelor, a very special relationship grows between these so totally different men. In the course of time, mere observation turns into kind affection, curiosity into friendships but in the end, suspicions prevail again.
