LAOS AND CAMBODIA
1983
/ USA/UK/France
In the twenty years of fighting in Indochina, Vietnam's neighbours went through profound changes; Laos was handed over to the communists without much fanfare, while Cambodia was torn apart by the war and then devastated by the victorious Khmer Rouge.
Highlights of the programme are the secret bombing of communist sanctuaries in Cambodia, the American invasion in 1970 and the growth of the Khmer Rouge under the sustained American bombing campaigns. Includes interviews with Government ministers in Laos and Cambodia, Henry Kissinger and former Khmer Rouge cadres.
