Fight for Your Right Revisited
Adam Yauch's 2010 tongue-in-cheek homage to the Beastie Boys' breakthrough song, Fight For Your Right (to Party), picks up where the original video left off.
Essentially an extended showcase video for the Beastie's last album, The Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2, it reveals what happened after Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA (played by Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride) left the titular party, still drunk, and ran into their future (present-day) selves (played by John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell and Jack Black).
Stuffed full of cameos from a who's who of popular culture - including Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci as the parents from the original video; Will Arnett riffing on his Arrested Development character Gob Bluth's “COME ON!” refrain; and the Beasties themselves - Fight For Your Right Revisited is ridiculous in the best possible way: a crazy mash-up of stars and music and ideas that shows just how visionary Yauch was as both a musician and a filmmaker.
Screens with Beastie Boys in Awesome I Fuckin' Shot That! (USA, 90 mins).
