GINGER AND ROSA
"Lovely and devastating, challenging yet worthwhile, Sally Potter's Ginger & Rosa may be the English filmmaker's best since Orlando." - The Playlist
It's London, 1962. Born in the same hospital on the day the H-bomb hit Hiroshima, Ginger and Rosa are inseparable - playing truant, smoking cigarettes and discussing poetry, politics and boys in the bath together. But as the Cold War meets the sexual revolution and Ginger's burgeoning political activism takes root, their intense, lifelong friendship is threatened by a belief-shattering betrayal.
As Ginger, Elle Fanning delivers a devastatingly nuanced performance full of subtle emotional turmoil. With an outstanding cast including Christina Hendricks, Alessandro Nivola, Annette Bening, Oliver Platt, Timothy Spall and Sydney-born (to Jane Campion) newcomer Alice Englert, this latest feature from lauded director Sally Potter is perhaps her most accessible yet.
"A viscerally charged movie that foregrounds surface tensions and gripping performances." - Indiewire
