The Fly
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) is a brilliant, eccentric scientist who has invented a matter transportation machine. He shows science journalist Ronnie Quaife (Geena Davis) his progress, which involves teleporting inanimate objects and turning the odd baboon inside out. After Seth and Ronnie begin a relationship, Seth decides to transport himself, unaware that a fly has entered the chamber with him. The teleportation is successful, but Seth begins exhibiting strange behaviour, including increased stamina and sugar cravings. Seth soon realises that his DNA has merged with an insect, and he is becoming… The Fly.
From legendary body-horror filmmaker David Cronenberg comes one of modern cinema’s grossest classics. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Makeup, The Fly is an enduring cult classic among those who can stomach it, frequently appearing in lists of the best horror movies of all time.
“Wildly imaginative, gut-wrenchingly scarifying and profoundly primal (not to mention funny).” – The Philadelphia Inquiry
