MIFF Talks: On Trend: Key Directions in Screen Culture
Delve into current and emerging screen-based movements with academics and screen practitioners as they consider what’s next.
Taking place at Federation Hall at the Victorian College of the Arts, this energising roundtable discussion invites University of Melbourne academics and current screen practitioners to explore the idea of what is ‘on trend’ – from current events within the Australian screen industry (both big, small and virtual), to emerging currents of change and to the future of the industry.
The panel will include three University of Melbourne alumni with works in this year’s festival – feature film directors Goran Stolevski (Of an Age and You Won’t Be Alone) and Caleb Ribates (Anak) as well as XR producer Emma Roberts (Gondwana) – alongside Dr Kirsten Stevens (Lecturer in Arts and Cultural Management). Moderated by Duncan Caillard (Tutor in Screen and Cultural Studies).
