Art and Architecture of Ceylon
The film begins with Kelaniya, a 5th Century B.C. historic location where Buddha is supposed to have visited for the first time - later the film surveys the art and architectural re¬mains at Mihintale (3rd Century B.C.) where Thero Mahinda, son of Emperor Asoka, met King Devanampiyatissa, who introduced Buddhism from India to Ceylon.
The film ends with the annual procession held in Kandy in which many gaily caparisoned elephants, traditional drummers, dancers and musicians take part and is held in honour of the exposition of the Sacred Tooth relic of Buddha.
