Land Below the Sea
1956
/ Netherlands
The history of the Netherlands is one of constant battle against the relentless sea. Slowly, the enemy has been driven back as rich farmlands are reclaimed from the driving surf. Occasionally, as in 1954, the sea has breached the dikes and poured over the land, only to be driven out again. This film tells the story of the Netherlands - rich land of canals and bridges, modern industry and home of the proud and progressive Dutch people.
