Box Office Hours
The Box Office is open one (1) hour before the first screening until fifteen (15) minutes after the final screening commences.
All MIFF box offices are cashless, only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash will not be accepted.
Boasting a spectacularly ornate Chicago Gothic style, The Capitol is one of Melbourne’s most beloved architectural icons. Following RMIT’s state-of-the-art refurbishment, it has been transformed into a contemporary centre for the cultural and education industries, with a variety of flexible spaces available to innovate and enjoy.
Box Office
The MIFF Box Office is located in the Foyer, accessible via a set of stairs from the Swanston Street entrance or via the lift in the Capitol Arcade to Level 1 for step-free/wheelchair access.
Food and Beverage
There is a bar and candy bar located in the Foyer, offering beer, wine and refreshments. The cinema is licensed.

Accessibility
There are two entrances into The Capitol Arcade: one is from Swanston Street; the other is from Little Collins Street through Carson Place, onto Howie Place heading towards Swanston Street.
From the Capitol Arcade there is a staircase that leads up towards the Level 1 Capitol Foyer.
For step-free/wheelchair access, enter The Capitol Arcade from Swanston Street or Howie Place. Follow the signs to the lift and take the lift to Level 1 for entry to The Capitol’s Level 1 Foyer level. To access the Level 2 Salon from the Foyer, take the ramp to the internal lift and take the lift to Level 2.

To enter the front of cinema, there is a large central staircase from the foyer level. There are stairs leading to the front, middle and rear sections of the cinema.
There is an additional entrance from the Salon level, up a set of internal stairs to the right of the foyer. Entry from the Salon is into the centre of the cinema.
For step-free/wheelchair accessible seating, take the internal lift from the Foyer to the Level 2 Salon. There are two automatic doors on either side of the Salon to access the cinema. There are four (4) wheelchair spaces with companion seats in the centre of the cinema – two on the left and two on the right. Four (4) additional wheelchair spaces with companion seats are accessible from the Foyer level and are positioned at the front of the cinema.
All seats are fabric except for the centre section, Rows J-P7 – 20, which are leather and have a small stow table.

Hearing Neck Loop: The Capitol is equipped with hearing neck loops. The hearing neck loop acts as a wireless connection to a personal hearing aid device equipped with a ‘T’ coil.
Assistive Listening: The Capitol will also have Assistive Listening units available for collection at the MIFF Box Office. Assistive Listening units will only be available for use at specific film screenings.
Please see How to Book Your Ticket section to book a Hearing Loop or Assistive Listening device. You may be required to leave photo ID when borrowing a device. Please approach a MIFF Front of House staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue.
There are bathrooms available on the Foyer and upper Salon level.
An accessible gender-neutral bathroom is located on the Foyer level.

Forum Melbourne is a live music, cinema, theatre, and event venue located on the corner of Flinders Street and Russell Street in Melbourne CBD. Built in 1929, Forum showcases unique Gothic-Romanesque architecture and features a sky-blue ceiling creating an illusion of an outdoor amphitheatre setting.
Box Office
The MIFF Box Office is located inside Forum on the left-hand side of the ground floor Foyer. Forum has one small step up to the central double doors. Step-free/wheelchair access is via the ramp through the right-hand side set of doors.
Food and Beverage
Forum features a bar/candy bar, located in the mezzanine foyer, for refreshments, snacks, beer and wine.

Box Office
The MIFF Box Office is located on the cinema level – Level 4 – on the right side of the candy bar. Please look for the branded MIFF signage or approach a MIFF FOH staff member for assistance if required.

There is a candy bar on the cinema level located in the main foyer across from the escalators. There will also be a smaller pop-up concession stand at the entrance to Cinemas 10 and 11 to service MIFF sessions. All cinemas are licensed.
