The Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks features a 16-metre domed ceiling, reclining seats, a 7.1 surround-sound system and a fulldome video-projection system. The result is spectacular colour and movement like never before, creating a unique immersive environment and awe-inspiring astronomical experience.
Accessibility
Entry into the Melbourne Planetarium is from Craig Street on the right of the Scienceworks building. There is a slight incline up a pathway to a set of double doors.
Entry into the Melbourne Planetarium foyer space is step-free/wheelchair-accessible.
Once inside the foyer space, move towards the circular desk across from the entry, then turn right towards the larger black double doors. This is the entry into the cinema space.
Entry into the cinema space is through the front of the cinema.
Seating in the cinema is step-free and there are four (4) wheelchair spaces.
Seats in the Planetarium are fabric with vinyl headrests and fully recline. Seats also have small armrests but no cupholders.

Bathrooms, including accessible bathrooms, are located in the foyer.

The Melbourne Planetarium is located an approximately 10-minute walk from Spotswood Train Station and an approximately 25-minute walk from Newport Train Station.

The Astor Theatre
St Kilda
The Astor Theatre is a cinema in the grand, old manner. It is the last single-screen cinema of its kind in continuous operation in Melbourne: still standing since its grand opening in 1936, and one of only a few single-screen movie theatres from the 1930s in the world screening repertory movie programming.
Box Office
The MIFF Box Office is located in the foyer of The Astor on the right. The Box Office is accessible via 4 steps from the main entrance doors or step-free/wheelchair access is through the ramped entrance to the left of the main doors, that leads directly into the Overlook Bar. Turn right and use the ramp to access the foyer and the MIFF Box Office.
Food and Beverage
The main candy bar is located in the ground floor Foyer. The Overlook Bar, adjacent to the foyer, also operates for evening sessions. There is an additional smaller candy bar upstairs on the Dress Circle level. There is step-free/wheelchair access to the main candy bar and the Overlook Bar via the ramped entrance to the left of the main doors. The cinema is licensed.

The Wheeler Centre
